They can be from any genre- so comic heroes, anime heroes, game heroes, you name it! anything goes!
SUBMISSIONS OPEN UNTIL: End of day June 1st, 2021
We are currently leading up to the deadline for CRM’s July 2021 issue, themed Heroes & Villains! This theme seems pretty straightforward, but like always we wanted to be here to give you all some ideas for your submissions and the type of content that we’re looking to feature in this month’s issue!
So get those cosplays ready, grab your cameras and photographers, and take a look at this article for some inspiration!
Heroes
Do you have a shoot of a character that really embodies what it means to be a hero? We would love to see it in this issue! What does this character mean to you? What does being a HERO really mean to you? Is it just kicking bad guy’s butts and saving people, or is there something more to it? Tell us about your character and what really makes them heroic in your eyes!
Villains
Oh villains, those characters you can’t help but love to hate… and sometimes hate to love! Whether your character is the most evil person you can think of or someone that is redeemed by the end of their journey, we want to see them all! What makes someone a villain? Is it the desire for evil or is it just being the antagonist in the story? Why does your character do the things they do? Tell us your thoughts on this character! What drew you to them in the first place? What made you want to cosplay them? What do you love about them?
Morally Grey?
While heroes and villains are great, sometimes the best characters fit into that strange in between area. the characters that look out for themselves, that exude pure chaos. The characters that mess with both sides, or whose alliances change depending on the circumstances. These characters are always so much fun!! On the flip side, we have fallen heroes. Characters that have turned against what they once believed in and joined the enemy. Maybe heroes that at one point did things “by the books” who now do things their own way. These types of characters, even if they don’t fit so cleanly into the side of “hero” or “villain” we would still love to see in this issue! Where do you think their ideals really lie? Which side do you personally see these characters on? What are your favorite interactions they have in the story?
Face Offs
Heroes and villains can never just exist! For one to have the other means that conflict must happen! Share those ultimate face offs with us in this issue! How do the two characters handle conflict differently? How do they fight their opponent? What is the conflict that draws them to oppose each other? Tell us all about it while sharing your favorite face off photoshoots!
Two sides of the same coin
Can’t decide between hero, villain, antihero, or anywhere else on the spectrum? Maybe you cosplay both sides to a particular rivalry! We would love to see multiple cosplays you have from the same media! Tell us about each side, which side you like more or why you like certain characters on each side! How do each of the characters compare and contrast to each other and how do you involve that with your portrayal of each character?
Comic Book Action!
While this issue is absolutely open to all genres of media, we would especially love to see those comic book heroes and villains come to life! Even if it is from a different medium, think superheroes and super villains! Ultimate powers coming in conflict with each other!
Feeling inspired by the ideas listed above? Have an idea that isn’t listed here? We’d love to see it! We are accepting submissions for this issue until the end of the day on June 1st 2021!
