CRM No. 18 The Sci-Fi Issue

The Sci-Fi issue has been out for almost a month now and we hope that those of you who have gotten it so far are enjoying it! This issue was so fun for us to work on and we just wanted to take a moment to talk about it! The Sci-Fi theme was really strong with both Emily’s and my interests! I’m sure we’ve said it so many times, but we are both HUGE fans of everything Star Wars! This theme also came at just the right time as both of us have recently gotten into watching “Voltron: Legendary Defender” on Netflix this month!

In addition to our own personal interests, we got the amazing opportunity to cover Fan Expo Boston as official press for this issue! Check out our full blog post on that here. The convention had a TON of sci fi goodness between the reunion of the “Back to the Future” cast, the amazing cosplays, and the tables of the Rebel Legion, 501st Legion, and the Boston Whovians to name a few!
The cover feature for this month’s issue was on Mark Edwards Photographer! The cover featured cosplayers @Callmesnips and @Darthhater23. It was so amazing to interview all three of them for a huge cover feature spread this month! Mark gave some great photography tips in his interview and both of the cosplayers talked to us about what Star Wars means to them as well as their experience volunteering in cosplay!

Other than the cover spread we had SO many fantastic interviews this month with some people that we really admire! Some of those big spreads include Michael Cannavo, a cosplayer and co-founder of Super73, Escoblades, a cosplayer and marketing manager at Ubisoft games, and Rana McAnear, the face model of Samara from the Mass Effect series.
In the fashion section of the magazine this month we featured Voltron varsity jackets from The Kigu Stop. These jackets were perfect for the back to school season and fit in great with our Sci Fi theme! We also featured fashion from Kaiami, an independent artist who makes some super cute and fashionable stuff! Kaiami’s products are perfect for a comfortable yet stylish look!
