With it being March again, for many of us it marks one full year of being in quarantine and living through the Coronavirus pandemic. While this past year has been hard for many of us, we here at Cosplay Realm Magazine wanted to take this month to celebrate the ways that some cosplayers, photographers, and creators have worked in unique ways to overcome this adversity!
We are so proud of the way that our community has been able to come together and keep being creative through online events, facetime photoshoots, self shooting, socially distanced shoots, and more! Many of us have worked on developing new skills so we could keep scratching that creative itch! At the same time, this past year has been incredibly difficult for many of us without the ability to see friends, do regular photoshoots, craft together, and attend conventions.
Inside this issue you can find cosplays across multiple different fandoms and genres with one unifying factor- creativity through the COVID-19 pandemic. We heard from many different creators about the ways that cosplay and creativity have helped them through these times, and the different unique ways that people were able to adapt!
Our cover feature this month is with the incredibly talented Yaya Han! We had previously spoken with her about a year ago in our Fire Emblem issue, which also featured our last convention coverage before COVID-19 swept across the world. In this issue we caught up with her about her successful cosplay career, set building, and how this past year has effected her life, her business, and the ways she creates! We also got in depth about the release of her book "Yaya Han's World of Cosplay" and some of the things you can find in it!
We hope that this issue can help inspire those of you out there who have been having a hard time over the last year. From beautiful works of art to articles explaining different techniques- issue No. 47 of CRM has so much to offer!
