We at Cosplay Realm are excited to bring you another cosplay Highlight from our Magical Girl issue! The star of today’s cosplay feature is such a kind and inspiring creator, and we are so happy to show off some of their work to you! Today we are highlighting Fadhili Samba (@FadhiliTheOne), who was featured in our latest issue as Princess Serenity!

Fadhili is a super talented cosplayer and crafter. On her page you can find cosplay photos and shoots as well as crafting progress updates on new projects she is working on! Most recently she had been working on Tanjiro’s Haori from Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba. The last WIP post on that project showed 138 fabric squares cut out and ready to be assembled for the cosplay! We can only imagine how much time and care went into cutting each individual square and then making this cosplay!

Aside from Fadhili’s cosplays, we also love seeing her personality shine through her social media channels! You can really see how bright of a person she is, and she seems so genuine in all of her posts. She frequently uploads short little videos to her Instagram story and we love hearing her talk about things and getting to know her through these posts! In addition to just being a very personable creator, Fadhili also uses her platform to talk about issues with POC representation and racism within the cosplay community.

Fadhili is also the founder of the recently launched Princess Party Project, which aims to make royal visits and birthday parties more accessible to those who can’t afford the pricetag. Fadhili is a really sweet and kind person, but she is also qualified! With her diploma in early childhood education and over seven years of experience working with children, we are sure her parties will be a great hit! Even with COVID, social distancing, or just plain not being in the same area as Fadhili- you can still book her for your parties for video call visits!

“Hi! My name is Fadhili, I'm 24 years old, my pronouns are she/her and I've been cosplaying for over 6 years. My Princess Serenity cosplay has brought me so much joy! There's no words to describe the feeling I get when I see myself all glammed up and the amazement in people's eyes: everyone loves a classic! It has also validated so many of my personal beliefs: that you CAN cosplay without breaking the bank (the dress cost me less than $40 Canadian/ $30 US to make), you CAN make great projects and be eco-friendly (90% of the material was either thrifted or I already had in my stash) and that you CAN compete and have your work recognized (I won three awards with this cosplay)!

And most importantly: you can do all that AND have melanin? Huh, who would've thought! ;) “
